Facts in brief: The Maltese Pound is stable and freely convertible. It's acceptance outside of Malta is good within Europe, more difficult outside of Europe.
Import/Export: Nonresident travelers may import any amount of foreign currency and may export any amount of foreign currency which they can show to have originally brought to Malta. The importation into / exportation from Malta by any resident / nonresident of any notes and coins, which are or have been legal tender in Malta is MTL1,000.
